Museum of History and Culture and Ceramic Art

The Museum of History and Culture and the Museum of Ceramic Art were originally the Relics Exhibition Room of the former Department of History back in the 1950s. The two museums now house over 1,500 relics, including some exquisite items such as bronze wares and inscribed bones or tortoise shells of the Shang Dynasty, eaves tiles of the Han Dynasty, bronze mirrors of the Han and Tang Dynasties, and china wares of the Yuan, Ming and Qin Dynasties.

Among these exhibits are the pieces regarded as the Key Treasures of the Museum, namely the Inscribed Tile Documenting Estate-granting of the Qing Dynasty, the Large Phoenix-patterned Hollow Brick of the Qing Dynasty and the Inscribed Gravestone of Yanzhuang of the Tang Dynasty, which are highly valued in terms of historical, cultural and academic research.
