Fifth Asian Chemical Biology Conference held in Xi’an

        During August 19 and 22, more than 150 representatives from countries and regions of Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore and China’s mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan participated in the 5th Asian Chemical Biology Conference, which was co-sponsored by Peking University, Tsinghua University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Shaanxi Normal University. 



         SNNU vice president Prof. Gao Ziwei, Wuhan University Prof. Zhou Xiang, who is director of Chemical Biology Expert Committee of Chinese Chemical Society, spoke at the opening ceremony.


         In his speech, Prof. Gao said the university hoped to take this conference as an opportunity to promote the development of chemical biology and bring about exchange and cooperation among partners at home and from abroad. He wished the participants a pleasant stay in Xi’an and a success of the conference.
        Academician of Chinese Academy of Science and Nanjing University Prof. Guo Zijian gave a keynote report titled Chemical Biology of Metals and Metallodrugs.
        About fifty scholars, including Prof. Chen Peng of Peking University, Prof. Zhou Xiang of Wuhan University, Prof. Yin Hang of Tsinghua University, Christian Hackenberger of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Prof. Takeaki Ozawa of Tokyo University, Prof. Itaru Hamachi and Prof. Miki Imanishi of Kyoto Univeristy, Prof. Kazunori Matsuura of Tottori University, Prof. Naoki Sugimoto of Konan university, Prof. Toshinori Sato of Keio University, Prof. Kyeong Kyu Kim of Sungkyunkwan University, Prof. Jun-Seok Lee of Korea institute of science and technology, Prof. Min Jae Lee and Prof. Hyun-Woo Rhee of Seoul National University, Prof. Injae Shin and Prof. Duhee Bang of Yonsei University, Prof. Dan Yang and Prof. Xuechen Li of the University of Hong Kong, Prof. Bengang Xing and Prof. Fangwei Shao of Nanyang Technological University, Prof. Wee Han Ang of National University of Singapore, Prof. Tsung-Shing Andrew Wang of Taiwan University, Prof. Chun-Cheng Lin and Prof. Kui-Thong Tan of National Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu, Taiwan, Prof. Po-Chiao Lin of National Sun Yat-Sen University in Taiwan, gave reports and discussed with their colleagues during the conference on the latest development, research fronts and hot topics in chemical biology.
