4645 students admitted into undergraduate class 2025

In the recent admission season, 4645 students of class 2025 have been admitted into the undergraduate programs and 144 in the preparatory programs of Shaanxi Normal University.

These students, from across China’s 31 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, fall into four categories: 1495 in literature and history, 2431 in science and technology, 523 in arts, and 196 in sports.

Another 48 students are admitted into second degree programs.

The admission types include general admission, public-funded education for normal university student program, national excellent teacher normal university student special program, university special program (Red Candle Program), national special program, inland Tibet class program, inland Xinjiang class program, separate admission for sports training, non-Tibet students scheduled for employment in Tibet program, and ethnic minority preparatory program, etc.

The admitted students’ lowest scores of college entrance exam in most provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions have reached new highs, a indicator of a significant rise in enrollment quality.

In Shaanxi, SNNU’s enrollment quality maintains a high level. In the advanced batch for public-funded education for normal university student program, the lowest scores of admitted students is 76 points higher than the provincial entry score for first-batch admission universities in literature and history category, and 126 points higher in science and technology category; and in the first-batch undergraduate general admission, the lowest scores is 75 points higher in literature and history category, and 109 points higher in science and technology category.

SNNU also implements China’s admission policy to admit more students from less-developed areas, in an effort to promote educational equality. It has admitted 150 students in the national excellent teacher normal university student special program from 22 middle and western provinces and regions such as Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Tibet and Gansu; and 343 students in national special program and 135 in university special program (Red Candle Program).

Of these students, 2330 are in teacher-education related programs, accounting for 50.2% of all admitted students. It is estimated that the number will reach 2700 after students determine their majors one year later, and by then 58% will be in teacher-education related programs.
