Bio of Prof. Fangyuan Yuan:
Ph.Dinlanguage pedagogy, vice president ofThe ChineseLanguage TeachersAssociation, USA,tenuredprofessor of language and culture of US Naval Academy, MA instructor of Middlebury College,andguest professor and academic director of the International College of Hangzhou Normal University.Sheonce taught business Chineseatthe University of Pennsylvania for many years, and has been invited to present research studies and conduct teacher-training workshops at Yale University, The State University of New Jersey,University of California at Santa Barbara, Beijing Language and Culture University, Capital Normal University and Hangzhou Normal University.Her research interests include Instructed Chinese second language acquisition,taskpedagogy, business Chinese instruction, andSino-American business culture, etc. She has authored three books and three textbooksof business Chinese, includingBusiness Chinese for Success, which is used as the main textbook for business Chinese course by many schools inthe US,Europe and China.She has published agreat number of articlesin prestigious journals includingStudies in Second Language Acquisition,Applied Linguistics,Journal of The Chinese Language Teachers Association, andTaiwan Chinese Language Teaching and Research; she also writesbook chaptersforRoutledge Handbook on Chinese as a Second LanguageandRoutledge Handbook on ChinesePedagogy.
