Jim Baker of Missouri State University visits SNNU
On March 15, Dr. Jim Baker, Vice President for Research and Economic Development and International Programs, and Mr. David Hamilton of MSU's Office of China Programs visited Shaanxi Normal University.
SNNU vice president Dang Huaixing met MSU guests and discussed issues of further cooperation, student exchange and teaching training programs at the Administrative Building on Chang'an campus.
SNNU's Department of Personnel vice director Fan Jing, International Programs Office vice director Zhang Lingyun, Teaching Affairs Department vice director Shi Luoxiang attended the meeting.
Dang Huaixing welcomed the guests and briefed them about SNNU's recent development in the internationalization of talent cultivation and research-oriented university. He said the university could use its geographical advantage to offer versatile opportunities and experiences for foreign students, as it was located in the cultural and historical city of Xi'an. He hoped the two institutions would strengthen exchange and have deeper cooperation in talent cultivation, teaching training, research projects and student study abroad programs, for better mutual development.
Dr. Baker thanked the hosts for their hospitality and briefed about MSU's history and statistics. He detailed the joint long-term and short-term teacher training and student exchange programs collaborated with SNNU and hoped the two institutions would work closer and explore new modes of cooperation, so as to build platforms of exchange for more teachers and students.
After the meeting, MSU guests met with students of SNNU's Outstanding Teacher Experimental Class in Classroom 1302 in Wenyuan Building and gave a presentation about study abroad programs.
