Wang Tuo listed in Youth Thousand Talents Plan



Prof. Wang Tuo of Shaanxi Normal University's School of Mathematics and Information Science was listed in the eleventh Youth Thousand Talents Plan, as the list was released by the Office of Overseas High-level Talents Recruitment recently.

Wang Tuo was among the 661 researchers selected from 2241 applicants this year.

Born in 1984, Wang Tuo received his B.S. degree in Beijing Normal University in 2006, M.S. degree in New York University with William R. Allen Award in 2009, and PhD degree in Vienna University of Technology in 2013. He joined Shaanxi Normal University in July 2014.

His research paper titled The affine Sobolev-Zhang inequality on BV(R^n) was highly praised and won the 2012 Best Paper Award of Vienna University of Technology. His research interest is convex geometry and he has published several papers as sole author in journals like Advances in Mathematics, Indiana University Math Journal, Journal of Functional Analysis, and International Mathematics Research Notices.

Initiated in 2008, Thousand Talents Plan has recruited many researchers who have taken leading roles in China's science and technology and industrial innovation and development.

Researchers in Youth Thousand Talents Plan will receive a living subsidy of RMB 500,000 yuan and a research fund of one to three million RMB yuan in three years period. Other living and work conditions will also be provided.
