Two SNNU students named Stars of Self-improvement of Chinese College Students



Recently, Two Shaanxi Normal University students Ma Yize and Lian Hao were named the 2018 Stars of Self-improvement of Chinese College Students, an event sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Young League and All-China Students Federation, and organized by China Youth Daily and the Alliance of Chinese University Media.

The two students are Ma Yize, a Culture and Communications major master’s student of School of Journalism and Communications, and Lian Hao, a sports training major undergraduate student of School of Physical Education.

Ma Yize was the team leader of the Zhangjiachuan Branch of SNNUs 19th Graduate Students Educational Aid Group. He has been participating in various volunteering programs since he was an undergraduate student, and have been awarded multiple honorary titles.

Lian Hao, a disabled student with an amputated forearm, is a table tennis player and has won medals including group gold medals in 2012 London Paralympics, 2016 Rio Paralympics, and 20196 World Tournament.

Began in May, the event aims at upholding socialist core values through searching for models of college students who have made remarkable achievements in aspects of patriotism, contribution, morality, sci-tech innovation, self-improvement, volunteering, public welfare, and overcoming disability.

Ten students are named Models of 2018 Stars of Self-improvement of Chinese College Students, and 1950 are named 2018 Stars of Self-improvement of Chinese College Students.
