He said his university had been extending its international programs, and hoped the two institutions would begin cooperation in areas of education, psychology and journalism and communications, which in turn would lead to deeper cooperation.

President Caboni briefed the hosts about his institution with emphasis on the advantageous disciplines. He said he was glad about the cooperation to be carried out between the two institutions, because he believed internationalization was the common trend of higher institutions as well as the world. He added that the commonalities in many aspects and more than ten years’ friendship between the two institutions would help further the cooperation and help WKU’s development.

SNNU vice president Ren Xiaowei concluded that opening up to the world was an inevitable requirement of the development of China’s higher education and Chinese university students had a strong demand for a better-quality higher education. He hoped the SNNU-WKU cooperation would promote understanding and bond between the Chinese and American peoples through educational exchange.
